The real role of Free Women in Gorean society is one of the most misinterpreted aspects on Gor. This misunderstanding is constantly being revived by various factors. First of all, by the language in most books that all women should be slaves. Second, a cursory reading of the books reveals that almost all of the important characters of free women, who are often haughty, end up as slaves. And third, there is the myth that male dominance on Gor is absolute. These three reasons combine to twist the reader's view of the free women of Gor. It is only through a deeper study of the Books of Gor that one understands the true complexity of the role of free women on Gor. They are far more than potential slaves.
The vast majority of women on Gor are free women. Only 2-3% of all women are actually slaves. This statistic alone speaks volumes about the status of free women in Gorean society. Despite all the rhetoric, Goreans do not fall into such platitudes and enslave most of their wives. They don't even enslave a significant proportion of their wives. There must be compelling reasons to support this attitude. Free women must be able to fill important roles that slave women cannot fill. The demand for these roles must exceed the demand for slaves.

It was early in the morning when I reached the city of Sais where today is the 5th day 3rd hand month of Cameruis 10.173 Contasta Ar (6/22/04).
The courtroom was still empty and I sat in the back row, already getting out stationery, pen and scrolls to write everything down. Very soon the hall filled with people of all castes and backgrounds, witnesses and the curious, murmurs filling the hall until the Magistrate, Sir Nicholas Eel, took his place at the Magistrate's Desk and spoke.
The indictment was read and the plaintiff, Sir Mσяgσтн Ƙσвιcнєηкσ Ɗαηѕє, was questioned by both Advocrates.
The accusations of the plaintiff were violent, he described the behavior of Lady Kara in great detail. that she has repeatedly offered to become his FC, although Sir Mσяgσтн is already in a free companion. The accused, who repeatedly offered herself to him, promised to bear sons, approached him slavishly and sat on his lap.

Witness statements confirmed Lady Kara's behavior.

Robert Lightstone (Bob Lightstone): My client is innocent of these allegations. Under the laws of Gor, she did none of the things that met the standards of slave-like behavior. She was lured into this incident, she was chatting up a new person in town, our town is known for being warm and welcoming to new people in town. We are all encouraged to do this. The slave song repeated under oath. She was terrified that he was trying to force her to commit a crime in some town on Gor. She is innocent and they have not proven otherwise.
I'm letting my case rest.
Nicholas Eel: Ray for the plaintiff

Ray Lobo (Nevar Lobo): Honorable Magistrate, we come here today so that you may decide whether Lady Kara has exhibited slave-like behavior towards the slaver Morgoth Danse. The evidence shows that she has done it over and over again. During the interaction with the slaver, we heard that she had engaged the slaver in conversation by going to the kennels instead of ringing the slave bell for service
She then chatted with the slaver about being a wagon man and admiring and complementing his scars. She asked the slave trader if he had a mate, she said she wanted to be his mate, she invited him to her shop, she spoke openly about having a relationship with him, giving him a son and how happy they paired would become a wagon man. My client answered the questions asked, but made no suggestions to encourage those questions.
Finally, she even testified that she had invited my client to the INN. She asked him to sit with her, as you heard in the testimony. At no point did she get up or leave the inn when they got there. She even told my client that he needed to speak to her father if he wanted to take her as a mate and when her father would be in town. All this knowing that he already had a partner.
Lady Kara suggested they could sit together and even sat on his lap, then knelt beside him when we heard from the warrior. She called for help but at no time protested the allegations or claimed they were untrue.
We've also heard from Lady Safi, who supports how Lady Kara's own actions of moving forward with foreign free men are happening.
You have heard all the evidence presented by both sides and you must find Olni City Law B Free Women – 5.3 If a Free Woman guilty behaves aggressively towards a man (except in the arena), gets into a heat state and/ or exposes her body in a manner that shows her heat and desires, she may be forcibly restrained by the collar by a city magistrate thereafter due due process. The only punishment might be a prison sentence from you, Honorable Magistrate.

The Judgment
Not guilty !
It was also ordered that Lady Kara be placed in the care of her father and that a new investigation into perjury be instituted against her.
Citation:
Nicholas Eel: I command and recommend that the leaders and law enforcement officers of Onli directly investigate the lady's possible crime of perjury. I further order that if upon examination it is found that she has singing, that she be enslaved and sent to the city kennel for a period of time. The woman would be allowed to be sold privately after a period of 6 Gorean months.
Editor's note:
The verdict "acquittal" caused a murmur and shaking of heads in the courtroom, many could not understand it, unfortunately I could not either!
It is only to be hoped that the lies of Lady Kara can be uncovered in the next trial and that she will be brought to justice !!
Addendum:
Previous inquiries with the magistrate Nicholas Eel resulted only in his statement that he had received no further information about the case and the investigation of perjury since the verdict. So we suspect that this matter will fizzle out. The verdict is a disgrace to Gor in my eyes and a license for all free women to throw themselves at any guy they want.
Lady Kit, Advocate was advised by the City of Olni to drop the matter and put it aside. Lady Kit then left town and is in a secret place.
Why is it so important to the city of Olni that this shameless person, Kate, gets away with it?
Maybe someday we'll find out why?
